Sport Fishing Championship (SFC) was launched to showcase the sport of saltwater fishing, positively impacting the local economies of championship towns, and continuously elevating tournament quality through a competitive championship format. Unstable Connectivity and Limited Infrastructure

Broadcasting live from boats and remote coastal venues posed significant challenges for SFC. With 12 tournaments across North America—often in areas lacking wired internet connectivity—SFC needed a dependable solution to deliver real-time, high-quality video to a major cable sports channel and its digital audiences.

The Solution

Flexible and Mobile Live Production

To meet the demands of remote tournament coverage, SFC implemented a mobile-first live production workflow powered by Haivision’s live video contribution and remote production solutions. This approach enabled agile production from virtually any location, regardless of available infrastructure.

SFC’s live production workflow was powered by:

Haivision MoJoPro – The professional camera app was used on smartphones to capture and transmit high-quality live video from boats, fan zones, and docks.
Haivision StreamHub – The bonded cellular and IP video receiver was deployed in production to receive, manage, and distribute multiple incoming IP video streams in real time.
Haivision Pro460 – The quad-HD video encoder and mobile video transmitter provided synchronized multi-camera video content for live broadcast production.
Starlink satellite connectivity – Haivision Pro transmitters ensured reliable transmission from offshore and remote environments over satellite networks.
