We’re excited to announce that we’ve just launched a brand new bonded cellular and IP stream receiver — StreamHub GO – bringing live broadcast productions a compact form factor version of StreamHub.

StreamHub GO has the same award-winning features as Haivision StreamHub, which has become an essential tool in a broadcaster’s kit, offering a flexible and scalable solution for receiving SST streams from Haivision transmitters. Live video can be transcoded and decoded to an SDI output or distributed as IP streams, including NDI and SRT, for broadcast contribution and remote production.

Keep reading to learn more about StreamHub and the new StreamHub GO solution, why they’re key components of a complete and reliable live broadcast ecosystem, and which deployment option is best suited for your workflow.

What is Haivision StreamHub and what are the key features?

StreamHub is a powerful and flexible video receiver and gateway designed to receive, transcode, decode, and distribute video streams from field units, mobile apps, IP cameras, and more. StreamHub has powered various types and sizes of live productions including SailGP’s Spain Sail Grand Prix and the TCS New York City Marathon.

Available as a server, in the cloud, and as virtual machine software, all versions of StreamHub feature the same advanced capabilities including transcoding, decoding, and IP stream routing. With the release of StreamHub GO, broadcasters now have another great option for their live production workflows.

StreamHub GO

The new StreamHub GO is a compact appliance that is ideal for live broadcast productions utilizing smaller studios, OB vans, and home-based setups. StreamHub GO supports real-time decoding of HEVC and H.264 video at resolutions up to 1080p60. It can handle up to four input and output streams, accommodating a mix of protocols such as SST, SRT, RTMP, HLS, NDI, and SDI.

The platform also offers video return feeds and two-way IFB (interruptible foldback) or audio intercom for real-time communication with production staff. Additionally, its Data Bridge feature enables remote control of IP-connected PTZ cameras, tally lights, and other field equipment.

All versions of StreamHub feature:

Ultra-Low Latency Streaming
When used with a Haivision mobile transmitter and a private 5G network, StreamHub’s ultra-low latency mode can achieve end-to-end latency as low as 80 milliseconds. This ultra-low latency capability is ideal for remote productions at sporting venues and offers a cost-effective alternative to expensive satellite or cable setups.
High-Quality Video Support
Video quality is always a top priority for broadcasters during live productions. StreamHub supports live video streams up to 4K resolution and High Dynamic Range (HDR) content, delivering an exceptional viewing experience for the audience.
Robust Input and Output Options
With support for multiple protocols including SST, SRT, RTMP, NDI, HLS, SMPTE ST 2110, and SDI, StreamHub offers unmatched flexibility for receiving streams over cellular networks, the public internet, or from the cloud. StreamHub has been optimized to work with Haivision’s bonded cellular transmitters including the Haivision Pro series, Air, and the new Falkon X2, as well as with the mobile camera app, MoJoPro, for a complete end-to-end ecosystem of Haivision mobile video solutions.
