Haivision Exhibits Video Streaming Solutions at Intel’s NAB Show StudioXperience

THE NAB SHOW – April 14, 2015 — Haivision joins Intel’s StudioXperience (booth SU621) at the NAB Show, demonstrating video streaming solutions that deliver secure, low latency, HD video at extremely low bitrates over any network.

With the growing appetite for live video content, broadcasters and enterprises need more efficient and cost effective ways to distribute video, without compromising on quality. Built on Intel’s high power CPU and GPU architectures, Haivision streaming solutions deliver live video to Internet audiences and across multi-site organizations using readily available, low-cost Internet connections. Haivision solutions with Intel help reduce footprint and processing power without compromising quality, ultimately helping organizations transport more live video at less cost.

“Backhaul, video monitoring, and streaming live events require high performance technology in order to deliver high quality, low-latency video for great viewing experiences,” said Peter Maag, Chief Marketing Officer, Haivision. “Haivision streaming solutions leverage the latest Intel technology to bring our customers power and cost savings, without reducing the quality of the video.”

“The StudioXperience at NAB is about the latest trends in content acquisition, creation, management, distribution and experience,” said Jim Blakley, Visual Cloud Computing Manager at Intel. “It’s about creating a positive impact on workflows from the smallest to the largest studios, broadcasters and production companies. Together with Haivision, we’re highlighting the latest streaming innovations for high performance, wide-scale distribution, using power and cost-effective technologies.”

Haivision streaming solutions with Intel inside include:

  • KulaByte Encoder: Built onto an ultra compact appliance, featuring 4th generation Intel® CoreTM processors with Intel® IrisTM Pro Graphics 5200, the KulaByte encoder delivers high quality RTMP Dynamic Streaming for Flash video, Adaptive HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) for iOS/mobile devices and SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) streams for secure, low latency, HD video transport over less than perfect networks.
  • Kraken Series: Featuring the Intel® Xeon® processor E3 family with Intel® HD Graphics 4600, the KulaByte transcoder optimizes both uplink and Internet delivery of HD adaptive bitrate (ABR) video streams for live events and OTT broadcast channels to connected devices around the world.
  • SRT: Haivision’s SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) is a unique transport technology that optimizes streaming performance across unpredictable networks, including the public Internet, for secure, reliable, low latency HD video. The SRT protocol is included with KulaByte and the Haivision Media Gateway.

Haivision will also exhibit its streaming and media management solutions at the NAB Show at the Renaissance Hotel (Paramount Room, 2nd floor) from April 13-16.
