Haivision Visual Collaboration Solutions Power the City of Cleveland’s Emergency Operations Center to Ensure Public Safety

Leveraging Haivision’s comprehensive and intuitive video wall solution, the emergency operations center harnesses real-time visual intelligence to support improved collaboration, monitoring, and decision-making during major events

MONTREAL, CANADAOctober 27, 2022 – Haivision Systems Inc. (“Haivision”) (TSX: HAI), a leading global provider of mission-critical, real-time video networking and visual collaboration solutions, today announced that the City of Cleveland’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC), a division of the Cleveland, Ohio Department of Public Safety, is leveraging Haivision visual collaboration solutions to access and display real-time video feeds from over 1,500 city cameras and use this intelligence to collaborate with public safety partners when responding to incidents where a threat to public safety may be detected.

The City of Cleveland’s EOC acts as a command post for city, state, and federal partners and agencies to monitor and align responses to planned national and regional events, including sporting, governmental and cultural events that take place in the city each year, and unplanned events, such as incidents where a threat to public safety may be detected.

In anticipation of a major political event, Cleveland city management selected Haivision technology, which includes a video wall display, management software, and hardware, to power its new state-of-the-art EOC and support the sharing and monitoring of real-time intelligence to aid in public safety. Haivision visual collaboration technology in place at the Cleveland EOC lays the foundation for a common operating picture amongst public safety teams by allowing a range of content to be displayed on a video wall comprised of multiple LCD display monitors.

The Haivision solution ingests content from specialized monitoring software, as well as social media, cable tuners, smartphones and more to help with the decision-making process. The video wall system is connected to three separate locations within the EOC main floor and delivers the same video feeds across all three locations, synchronizing everyone’s view of events as they unfold for end-to-end visualization and collaboration.

“The capabilities of the Haivision video wall and the technology that drives it have been instrumental in helping us to accomplish our mission when an emergency response is needed,” said Fred Szabo, Emergency Manager, Cleveland Office of Emergency Management, Cleveland Department of Public Safety. “It has proved to be a great success and an extremely useful tool that we have come to depend and rely upon. Without it, we wouldn’t be nearly as effective.”

Dustin Bilthouse, Haivision Business Development Strategist, Public Safety comments: “As part of our customer-focused approach, we worked closely with Cleveland EOC leadership and staff to identify pain points and understand their needs. The result is a powerful comprehensive visual collaboration solution that is reliable, scalable, easy-to-use, and helps Cleveland EOC establish real-time intelligence that aids in managing threats to public safety and making critical decisions fast.”

Haivision’s mission-critical video solutions include its next-generation critical visual collaboration platform Command 360TM, which enables operation and command center response teams to make real-time decisions fast by centralizing all video, data, communication, and visualization sources into a fully secure multi-site video wall solution.
