Haivision and Avid are Partnering to Simplify Contribution Workflows for Editorial
We are excited to share that Haivision is partnering with Avid to enable live IP contribution for news, sports, and remote live productions into Avid production environments. Using Avid’s new MediaCentral | Stream, alongside Makito X4 video encoders and Haivision SRT Gateways, this partnership enables efficient IP contribution workflows from anywhere to editorial systems on-premise or in the cloud using standard internet connections.
These IP contribution workflows offer several key benefits to broadcasters:

Simplifying Remote Editorial Production
Haivision and Avid have developed a combined workflow to enable easy, scalable live IP video ingest.
In this streamlined workflow, users can contribute a live feed to Avid workflows from a Makito X4 video encoder using the SRT streaming protocol. Once streaming to the remote Avid production environment, MediaCentral | Stream ingests the IP video feeds into an Avid-native editorial format. This media is then available for editing, even while the capture process is ongoing. This solution greatly simplifies remote contribution and increases revenue opportunities for broadcasters; covering a broader range of events is now easier than ever and getting that content into editorial workflows quickly helps speed the overall time of getting edited content to air.
