NAB New York is right around the corner, and there is a lot to be excited about. This year’s edition features a host of high-profile keynote speakers, including New York’s own Robert De Niro and Fox Television CEO Jack Abernathy.
Haivision is going to be playing a strong role in this year’s NAB New York. We will be presenting, taking part in another highly anticipated SRT discussion panel, and exhibiting on the show floor. Oh, and did we mention the Streaming Summit Reception? Read below to see the different ways that you can connect with Haivision at NAB New York 2018!
Hear firsthand from Comcast, NBC Sports, and Microsoft as they discuss their experience with SRT for live production workflows
We have another great panel discussing Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) for delivering low latency live video over unpredictable networks, like the internet. Each speaker will address their experiences implementing the open-source SRT video streaming protocol, the strengths of SRT based workflows, as well as ideas for improvement, and the future challenges that they anticipate.
By exploring their own experiences, panelists will help illustrate the far-reaching impact of the open-source SRT project as a technology that has been both reliable enough to be adopted by large broadcasters, while remaining accessible to smaller users.
We’re excited to welcome Brandon Costa of the Sports Video Group to moderate the panel. Costa is well known for his SVG coverage of the latest in new technologies used by the sports video production industry, including live streaming, OTT, and other digital distribution technologies and platforms. The four panelists include: Comcast Technology Solutions’ Joe Mancini, Senior Director of Product; Chris Connolly, Senior Director of Transmission Engineering and Operations for NBC Sports and Olympics; Pete Thordarson, Stage Engineering Lead for Microsoft; and Ghislain Collette, VP of Product Management at Haivision.
Learn how SRT can improve your live video workflows from Ghislain Collette, VP of Product Management
Are you looking for a more technical analysis of how SRT improves live video workflows? You will not want to miss Haivision’s Ghislain Collette give his presentation on Thursday, October 18, from 2:30-3:00 PM in room 3D09.
This session is titled “Optimizing Streaming Performance and Video Workflows with SRT.” In thirty minutes, Ghislain will give an overview of the fundamentals of this open-source technology protocol, and how it accounts for latency, packet loss recovery, jitter, security, firewall traversal, and bandwidth optimization. He will also explore how SRT has evolved following lessons learned in real-world implementations.

We will be showing how SRT and our Stream Sync technology helps make it easier to synchronize multiple video sources for live event coverage at remote venues. You will be able to ask questions about how to use our encoders and SRT to securely transport low latency video over unpredictable networks for applications like remote live interviews and return feeds.
Have your head in the cloud? You will want to speak to our team about how we can help you stream your live content to cloud-based workflows. We can also talk with you about transporting live video for linear TV and OTT distribution, live 4K delivery, and how to use our new Haivision Play set-top boxes and mobile apps for broadcast monitoring and feedback.
