Job Summary
As a member of the Business Systems team, the Atlassian System Administrator will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and evolution of Haivision’s Atlassian ecosystem, including Jira Premium, Confluence, Jira Service Management, Rovo, and Bitbucket.
This role will play a key part in driving AI-assisted productivity through Atlassian Rovo, leading Jira workflow standardization initiatives, and establishing Confluence content governance practices. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated learner who is passionate about maximizing system value through user adoption and alignment with business processes.
Responsibilities
Core Administration
- Administer Atlassian products including Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and applications such as Xray and ScriptRunner at the system level.
- Configure and support projects, spaces, permissions, users, roles, reporting, dashboards, custom fields, issue security, scripting, add-ons, and REST API integrations.
- Create and manage users, groups, projects, and permission structures.
- Create Jira projects, JQL queries, filters, dashboards, and reports.
- Troubleshoot access, configuration, and performance issues, engaging Atlassian or third-party vendors when required.
- Understand system architecture and evaluate upstream and downstream impacts when implementing solutions.
- Research, test, and implement new Atlassian products, applications, and features.
Rovo Administration & AI Enablement
- Administer and configure Atlassian Rovo, including connected data sources, search connectors, and indexing settings.
- Define, build, test, and deploy custom Rovo Agents to support team-specific workflows and business processes.
- Monitor adoption metrics, gather user feedback, and optimize agent configurations and data source coverage.
- Establish governance policies for Rovo usage, including permissions, content visibility, and responsible AI practices.
- Train and support users on leveraging Rovo for enterprise search, summarization, and workflow automation.
- Stay current on Rovo capabilities and evaluate new features for organizational benefit.
Jira Workflow Standardization & Refactoring
- Lead audits and rationalization of existing Jira workflows to identify redundancies and opportunities for consolidation.
- Design and implement standardized workflow templates, validators, post functions, and transition rules.
- Refactor legacy project configurations, including field configurations, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes.
- Collaborate with project managers and team leads to define target-state workflows and manage migrations.
- Document workflow standards and governance practices to ensure long-term consistency.
Confluence Content Governance & Knowledge Management
- Lead Confluence content clean-up initiatives, identifying stale, duplicate, or orphaned content.
- Define and implement content lifecycle management processes, including ownership, review schedules, and archival policies.
- Establish space structure standards, page templates, and labeling conventions to improve discoverability.
- Create and maintain governance documentation, including roles, responsibilities, and compliance requirements.
- Promote content hygiene practices through automation and Rovo-assisted content discovery.
Continuous Improvement & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Atlassian tools and promote best practices across the organization.
- Analyze existing processes and configurations to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers, developers, infrastructure teams, business stakeholders, and leadership to gather requirements and recommend solutions.
- Create and maintain documentation related to processes, policies, system configurations, and end-user support materials.
Skills and Qualifications
- University degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, or an equivalent field.
- 3–5 years of experience as a Jira and Confluence Administrator.
- Hands-on experience customizing Jira projects, workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes.
- Strong knowledge of Jira Query Language (JQL).
- Experience with Atlassian products such as Jira Software, Confluence, Jira Service Management, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, Jira Work Management, Bitbucket, Xray, Atlas, Compass, or Discovery.
- Experience using Jira REST APIs and integrating Jira with external systems and automation frameworks is considered an asset.
- Experience with AI-assisted productivity platforms, including Atlassian Rovo or similar enterprise AI tools, is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience leading workflow standardization, process improvement, or system consolidation initiatives.
- Knowledge of content governance, information architecture, or knowledge management best practices is an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken.
