What is a Mobile Video Transmitter?

Mobile video transmitters are portable video encoders that leverage cellular modems to encode and send broadcast-quality video using SIM cards connected to cellular networks. They are often referred to as mobile transmitters, field units, live video transmitters, or even bonded cellular encoders.

Used in outside or remote environments when IP network connectivity is limited or non-existent, a mobile video transmitter is a device that typically connects to a camera, encodes the live video, then transmits it over multiple, bonded network connections (3G, 4G, 5G, Wifi, etc.) to broadcast production resources on-premise or in the cloud.
