RUGGEDIZED HEVC ENCODING

The Makito X HEVC Rugged encoder is a compact and ruggedized military-grade appliance designed for deployment in the most demanding ISR environments.

Makito X HEVC Rugged delivers high-quality, low latency HEVC encoding of 1080p60 video in a completely ruggedized MIL-STD-810G/DO-160G compliant form-factor with full KLV/CoT metadata support.

POWERFUL & COMPLIANT ENCODING

Designed for demanding ISR applications

The Makito X HEVC Rugged is a dual-input appliance with two HEVC and four H.264 encoding engines capable of encoding HD video at up to 1080p60. The excellent picture quality at low bitrates and the lowest encode latency in the industry (as low as 40 milliseconds when encoding HEVC at 720p60 with a 120 frame GOP size) makes this encoder ideally suited for mission-critical ISR applications.

Adhering to military specifications such as MISB and STANAG as well as general industry standards including AVC/H.264 and HEVC/H.265, SMPTE and MPEG, the Makito X HEVC Rugged is designed to facilitate video stream interoperability with downstream users, ensuring real-time situational awareness between multiple commands.

KLV METADATA

The Makito X HEVC Rugged supports industry standard MISB-compliant Key-Length-Value (KLV) metadata transport within the MPEG-2 transport stream. Metadata is captured via serial port, Ethernet or the SDI-VANC embedded input video.

KLV is transported using the MISB 0604.2 defined asynchronous or synchronous formats. KLV and video synchronization is achieved by leveraging the MPEG-2 transport stream Presentation Timestamps (PTS) allowing receivers to resynchronize the metadata with the video. Additionally, the Makito X HEVC Rugged supports Cursor-on-Target (CoT) metadata which is converted into standard KLV format.

RUGGEDIZED

The Makito X HEVC Rugged combines the unrivaled low latency and performance of Haivision’s commercial Makito X encoder in a completely ruggedized MIL-STD-810G/DO-160G compliant form-factor.

The Makito X HEVC Rugged leverages the stable and proven broadcast heritage of the Makito X line of encoders and decoders in a rugged form factor. Designed for all-weather airborne, naval and ground based platforms, the Makito X HEVC Rugged is suitable for deployment in extended temperature range environments.

POWERED BY SRT

Secure Reliable Transport

Haivision’s Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) technology provides end-to-end security, resiliency and dynamic endpoint adjustment based on real-time network conditions to deliver the best video quality at all times.

With SRT, you can optimize video streaming across unpredictable networks, like the Internet, by assuring quality-of-service when faced with packet loss, jitter, latency, and fluctuating bandwidth.

SRT offers significant operational flexibility and cost savings over (or compared to) satellite or custom network infrastructures.
