MONTREAL and CHICAGO — Aug. 12, 2010 — Haivision Network Video has been shortlisted as a finalist for the CSI Awards 2010, one of the most comprehensive and competitive technology awards. The company is being recognized for its Furnace™ 5.5 H.264 video-over-IP distribution system, which provides a secure, easy-to-use, and simple-to-deploy system for encoding and distributing live video to computers and set-top boxes, creating scheduled playback channels for enterprise TV and signage, and recording content and delivering video on demand.
“The Furnace platform is helping users across the broadcast, communications, enterprise, education, and healthcare markets to maximize network usage and minimize the cost and operational burden of high-quality SD and HD video delivery,” said Peter Maag, senior vice president at Haivision. “We’re pleased that these benefits are being recognized industry-wide and that our Furnace IP video delivery system has been shortlisted from among the many remarkable new technical advances across the cable, satellite, terrestrial broadcasting, and IPTV sectors.”
The CSI Awards 2010 are organized by CSI magazine, which will host an award ceremony during IBC2010 on Sept. 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The awards are open to companies whose technologies were announced, launched, or deployed for the first time during calendar years 2009 and 2010. The awards are judged independently of CSI magazine by a panel of experts that includes practicing and former heads of engineering and operations from some of the world’s most important network operators, well-respected consultants, and senior industry analysts.
