Production and Fulfillment Manager

Job Summary:

The Production and Fulfillment Manager (PFM) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of production and order fulfilment. The PFM plans, coordinates, and controls mechanical and final-assembly processes to ensure products are assembled according to specifications, and in the sufficient quantities to support Sales forecasts. Acting as the gatekeeper in the final stage of the fulfillment process, the PFM is also responsible for ensuring quality products reach customers, on time, and in accordance with their delivery instructions. The PFM acts as a champion in the Operations department to deploy and sustain lean and continuous improvement programs in production.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 5+ production staff in a warehouse environment.
  • Plan weekly/monthly work schedules.
  • Plan production deliverables in accordance with: i) orders to be fulfilled; and ii) inventory optimization based on forecast and safety stocks, and ensure products are assembled and delivered accordingly.
  • Assist in the development/updating of processes, methods, and procedures for product assemblies.
  • Improve department efficiency by evaluating and optimizing workflows, space requirements, and equipment layout, and lead the implementation of changes.
  • Monitor shipping activities and ensure delivery dates are met.
  • Responsible for addressing and resolving production issues.
  • Monitor productivity rates and ensure product and quality control standards are adhered to.
  • Build and maintain a cross-training employee matrix and ensure training is provided to increase production flexibility.
  • Update KPI metrics and share performance results.
  • Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed at all times, and propose new measures, as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of a DEC required; Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline considered a definite asset.
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience in fulfilment and warehouse operations in a technical hardware environment, five of which in a management capacity.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and drive results.
  • Capacity to prioritize work, perform multiple tasks, and work under tight time constraints.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel; sound knowledge of the rest of the MS Office suite.
  • Relevant experience with ERP and CRM systems.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Available to work weekends and/or extra hours in periods of peak demand.
  • English and French required.
