Efficiency. The KulaByte™ Cloud transcoder ingests H.264 video streams over IP and transcodes them to Flash (RTMP) and iPhone/iPad (HLS) formats up to eight output bitrates. Operating on a commercial Cloud server such as Amazon EC2® or in private data center, the KulaByte transcoder makes it possible to stream high quality live events from locations that would otherwise not have enough bandwidth to support multiple bitrate streams to desktops and mobile devices. The KulaByte transcoder also simplifies encoder workflow at the live event venue as well as the ability to syndicate the live stream to as many distribution points as desired including premier content delivery networks such as Akama® and online video platforms such as UStream®.
Quick Deployment.Used with Haivision's HyperStream™ service, KulaByte transcoders can be provisioned in a matter of minutes, available by the hour. This allows for quick scalability for large and unexpected projects at a moment's notice without the worry that systems will not be able to handle higher demands.
