Datasheet in PDF format

Low-Latency H.264 Transcoding. The Kraken is designed for performance IP video transcoding, primarily for use with Transport Stream to Transport Stream systems. The Kraken is used within enterprises for high bandwidth broadcast streams while the Kraken ISR, in addition to the base Kraken's features, provides extreme low-latency transcoding for metadata rich applications.

DVB Stream Distribution. The Kraken prepares high bandwidth broadcast streams (MPEG-2/H.264) for enterprise distribution and consumption. As DVB signals are bandwidth heavy, enterprise networks can become congested, as can computers attempting to decode the stream. Using Kraken the stream can be prepared for various destinations on a network that connects to devices of differing abilities/specifications. This allows for a seamless and secure multicast framework to be created and maintained.

Kraken ISR – Transcoding with Metadata. Within the domain of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), metadata, typically KLV (Key-Length-Value), is usually included in addition to the full motion video (FMV) stream. The Kraken ISR can easily disseminate the information, allowing the video stream to be formatted for the any downstream systems and users while maintaining all metadata. This is done with the lowest possible delay (500 to 1000 milliseconds latency) and maintains frame accurate metadata synchronization.
