“Haivision delivers intelligent media systems that incorporate video, graphics, and metadata to help customers build, manage, and distribute their content to users throughout an enterprise or across the Internet. At BroadcastAsia2012, broadcasters in all market segments will learn how Haivision bridges the gap between the enterprise and the Internet. We’re particularly excited to demonstrate our KulaByte Internet encoding/transcoding technology as we extend Haivision’s performance solutions ‘over-the-top’ to viewers of all popular devices anywhere in the world.” — Peter Maag, Haivision’s chief marketing officer

Haivision Products on Display at BroadcastAsia2012:

KulaByte™ Internet Encoder — a Haivision Debut
At BroadcastAsia2012, Haivision will debut the KulaByte™ Internet encoder. The KulaByte encoder offers superior picture quality, uplink efficiency, and ROI for streaming to Dynamic Flash® and Adaptive HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) networks. KulaByte combines the highest quality-per-bit (QPB) with tight bandwidth control and Adaptive Bitrate Control™ to get the most out of Internet uplinks. This allows broadcasters better quality contribution and affords more sources from any venue. Because the encoder is software-based, broadcasters can achieve a greater ROI as they can scale and take advantage of future encoding efficiencies without hardware dependencies.

KulaByte™ Live Transcoder — Introducing 4.0 for Linux®
At BroadcastAsia-2012, Haivision will debut the KulaByte™ live H.264 video transcoder. Now available for Linux® — the operating system of choice for reliable cloud deployment — KulaByte 4.0 delivers 30-percent performance gains and a 30- to 40-percent cost reduction when deployed in cloud environments, such as Amazon's EC2™. KulaByte is one of the first transcoders available to take advantage of cloud computing efficiencies, delivering multiple bitrate HLS and RTMP streams for adaptive/dynamic streaming. In addition, KulaByte 4.0 introduces a simplified user interface and support for closed captioning, ad insertion, and ingestion of H.264 in MPEG-2 transport stream encapsulation.
