Performance Recording The Furnace’s network video recording system (VF NVR) can record on-demand or scheduled content. On-demand recording (lecture capture) is typically initiated and controlled through the integration with a room controller (for classrooms) or through its user interface (for library transfers). Alternatively, VF NVR can record against a schedule, either related to class and lecture timing or through the automatic EPG data of live broadcasts. The Furnace can record and playout multiple streams of video and computer graphics simultaneously to recreate rich media instruction.
Editing The Furnace includes editing capabilities (VF Editor) to trim assets and view, add, and edit any bookmark data (HotMarks™) so that user can quickly browse to specific reference points within the video.
Publishing Once an asset is within the Furnace system, it can be enabled against a user’s privileges within the channel guide and VoD portal native to the InStream player, within the Furnace’s customizable web portal, or it can be published as a link for inclusion within any curriculum portal system. The Furnace’s powerful link generator can dictate start and endpoints of an asset as well as the presentation and behavior of the InStream player.
