HaiVision to Flash® Streaming with Wowza Media ServerTM Pro
Leveraging the support of H.264 video compression within Flash, Wowza and HaiVision have partnered to deliver full compatibility between HaiVision’s hai1000, MAKO-HD, and TASMAN encoders and the Wowza Media Server. With the MAKO-HD, content providers can deliver the lowest latency high definition Flash video to their audience at resolutions up to 1080p. At 70 milliseconds encoding and very quick stream turn around within Wowza, this is truly the fastest Flash H.264 solution. The TASMAN supports standard definition and lower resolutions direct to Flash streaming. Using telecom grade encoding appliances rather than software based encoders affords 1) higher reliability, 2) high encoding performance, and 3) the ability to encode live events on-site using extremely reliable appliances and transmit the compressed video to the content server infrastructure. For traditional HaiVision telepresence style deployments, the Wowza Media Server can be easily integrated for supplementary media delivery within the organization. Using HaiVision’s “Logical Multicast” stream replication, systems can simultaneously stream to performance decoders and the Wowza Media Server.

H.264 is a replacement standard for both MPEG-2 and H.263.
